So...what do you think of the new website?

The site is, at the moment, at its most basic and will be built on. What we are looking for is content - stories, photos, match reports - anything we could add to the site to make it interesting.

If you have any suggestions for features we could add - please mention them here or email me at rhian@waunarlwyddrfc.org.uk!

Myself and Rhian are away for a fortnight so if there are any updates needed for the website can you post them here and we can sort them out when we get back.

Thanks.

Hi to you all, Idea
I think there are numerous items that can be added to this site. My son plays for the under 9's, it would be wonderful for the fixture list and match score to be placed on this site for all the younger teams.
Also, i'd like to see their photos on the site, when he played football their site used to include photo's of the different teams and any news items, such as the awards evening, man of the match could be placed on this site, to give the children encouragement.
it would also be excellent for the children to have a games site for them to feel a part of the waunarlwydd internet site.
either one fo the parents could be given the responsiblity of the upkeep of the team's site or the information could be passed to the site organisers, so they could input the information.
There is also a very good national sports photography company that specialises in taking photo's of sporting events, I am unsure whether there would be financial gain for using them, but you could look into this as I think there is a possiblity of gaining a percentage of takings. this company could be used for when the club holds tournaments. The photo's they produce are excellent, in action photo's. My daughter recently had her photo taken for gymnastics they were supurb and not that expensive.
I hope this has been helpful.
Thank you
melanie and clive

hi again,
I have just seen the South Gower Web site and oh boy you really should take a look!!!!!!!!It's fabulous, exactly what I would like to see on waunarlywdd's web site, even keith Collins looked pretty in the pictures!! (only joking by the way). Honestly the action photo's of the boys playing the write up of the game was excellent, they even managed to have a small video of the south Gower boys doing their chant at the end of a match.
They had photo's of Waunarlywdd under 9's beating them, but we didn't.
I'm no computer buff, but I'm sure it could be done
Thank you

Melanie

Thanks for your input and you are right it doesn't take much to do that kind of thing with our website. If there is anyone in the juniors prepared to do write ups of games they can email them into us and we will put them on the website in the same way we do for the seniors. The only reason the first team write ups are there is because there is a gentleman who emails me the write up of Saturday's game every week. It would be worth speaking to the coaches of your team to see if they or a parent is prepared to do a write up for the site.

With regards to the photos on the South Gower website, there is a legislation in place that prevents pictures of kids being used on websites unless the website owners have written authorisation from the parent or guardian of every child in the picture. It is one of the reasons we don't post team photos on the site as the paperwork is rediculous.

I have mentioned web updates to several people over the years in the junior section and youth sections alike and have never had anyone willing to contribute write ups and the like which is a real shame.

That would be great Melanie, the more people we can get contributing to this site the better it will be for all.

Hi Mathew,
I've had a word with Andrew and he's more than happy for me to provide a description of the matches. I'll start from next Sunday as I could not do justice to their match against Penclawdd last week. They scored 11 tries to nil, it was fantastic, but I lost count of who scored. To do the team justice I will take a note book with me next time, but you could put on the web site man of the match was Ewan!!
I'll also e-mail the fixture list to you when they give me one.
Thank you
Melanie
